Description
Chilton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1702, as indicated by the datestone on the right gable. Originally consisting of four bays, it was extended by one bay in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble with red brick dressings and features a mainly tiled roof, with the lower two courses made of stone slates. It has two storeys and five windows, primarily later casements, although the right end bay has tripartite sashes. The right side includes a gable end with kneelers, and there is an outshut at the rear. A stone weather porch with kneelers and a round-headed doorcase is present at the front. Inside, the farmhouse features a stick staircase with a mahogany handrail.
