The right-hand cottage, Briarley, is constructed of stone rubble with brick dressings and features a thatched roof with a brick chimney stack. It has two storeys and two casement windows, along with a slate and brick gabled weather-porch. The left-hand cottage, Shelley, is of a lower elevation and has a front made of red brick in stretcher bond, while its left side is built of coursed clunch.
