Description

Stone Cross Cottage is a house dating from the 17th or 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of Isle of Wight stone rubble, with brick dressings, and has a thatched roof with a brick chimney stack. The house is one and a half storeys high, with a symmetrical facade of three bays and four windows. Three eyebrow dormers, each containing casements with leaded lights, are visible in the roof. The ground floor has four similar windows. A central thatched porch, supported by chamfered wooden piers, provides access to a plank door, accompanied by a foot-scraper. A stone cross is affixed to the exterior wall. A brick lean-to addition is present on the right-hand side.
