Description

This is a row of terraced houses at 11-18 Lind Street. The buildings date to 1577 and form a continuation of the terrace at numbers 6-9, sharing a similar architectural style. The facades are stucco-faced and feature a cornice and blocking course, although there are slight variations in the windows. Numbers 11, 12, 13, and 18 have tripartite windows on the ground floor, incorporating a Doric pilaster frieze and cornice. Number 16 has a smaller tripartite window and a second-floor window, and lacks a balcony on the first floor. Numbers 14, 15, 17, and 18 have two windows on the first floor, with block consoles to the piers supporting cast iron balustrades. All the houses have square-headed doorways with recessed doors consisting of four moulded panels and rectangular fanlights. The original glazing bars are intact in the fanlights of numbers 14, 15, 16, and 17. Numbers 5-22 Lind Street are designated as a group.
