Description

Stroud Green is an 18th-century house located on Town Lane, Chale. It is constructed of Isle of Wight coursed stone rubble with brick dressings and has a tiled roof with end brick stacks. The house is two storeys high and originally had three windows, now fitted with 20th-century casements in brick surrounds. The ground floor casements are set within brick surrounds with cambered heads. A modern, central, brick and stone gabled weather porch has been added. The rear elevation features two gables, one of which is half-hipped. Attached to the right side of the house is a single-storey building with a brick chimneystack, likely originally a brewhouse.
