Description
The Brewhouse and Dairy at Grove Farm, built in the early 18th century, is located approximately 10 meters southwest of the farmhouse. This combined structure features a brewhouse to the south and a dairy to the north. It is constructed of stone rubble and has an old tiled roof. The south elevation includes one original first-floor mullioned window with iron bars on the left and an original leaded light on the right. There is a large ground floor window with a wooden shutter set in a quoined surround, along with a plank door. The east elevation has two mullioned windows and one window with a brick surround, as well as two plank doors. Inside, there is an early 18th-century fireplace with a cambered arch and a copper to one side. A central staircase features a late 18th-century six-panelled door at its base. The farmhouse that stands today replaced an older manor house. A datestone with the initials IF and the year 1745, found buried near the Brewhouse and Dairy, likely relates to the previous farmhouse but may also indicate the date of this building.
