Description
The terrace wall located to the east of the east front of Nunwell House is a late 18th century structure, possibly added when the dining room was constructed in 1896. The wall has a curved shape and features a stone base made of rubble, standing about 1 foot high, topped with tapering stone balustrading that reaches approximately 2 feet in height. In the center, there are delicate wrought iron gates. Each side of the wall is flanked by four piers, which are topped with pineapple finials, while the central piers have ball finials. To the north, there is an additional section of red brick walling laid in Flemish bond, which includes stone coping, two ball finials, and a stone urn.
