Description
Harts Farmhouse is a house built in 1654, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble and features a half-hipped thatched roof, along with two brick chimneystacks. The building has one and a half storeys and includes three windows, which are topped with eyebrow dormers. The ground floor windows have hood moulding, but they are modern casements. There is a hipped thatched porch supported by rustic poles, and a partial outshut at the rear with a mullioned surround. Modern extensions have been added to the front and rear, but these are not of special interest. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam dated 1654, featuring the initials W.R. and a heart and lambs tongue stop, as well as two inglenook fireplaces.
