Description
Numbers 10 and 11 Devonshire Place are a pair of terraced houses dating to circa 1825, likely designed by Amon Wilds and Charles Augustin Busby. They are constructed of stucco with tiled roofs. The houses are three storeys high, with dormers situated above a basement level, and each has two windows.
An upstairs entrance to each house is defined by a round arch, incorporating a fanlight. Number 10 retains original decorative glazing on its fanlight; the door jambs are treated as fluted Tuscan pilasters. To the left of both entrances are full-height segmental bays featuring flat-arched tripartite windows. A single window is present to the right of the bay on the first and second floors. The cambered first-floor window of Number 11 and the second-floor window of Number 11 are flat-arched. The sashes in Number 10 are of original design, with the exception of the second floor, and are original throughout Number 11.
First-floor balconies are present with cast-iron railings; the balcony of Number 10 is segmental in plan, while that of Number 11 is rectangular. A shallow porch is located over the entry to Number 10, supported by cast-iron brackets. A cornice and blocking course are present on Number 10; a blocking course is also present on Number 11. Each house has two flat-arched dormers. Chimney stacks are located on the party walls.
The interior has not been inspected. Railings are present to the stairs and areas.
