Description
The entrance to the western part of St Nicholas graveyard, dated 1846 on the keystone, features an arched design with flanking walls. The structure is made of yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, with stone elements. It has a round brick arch supported by stone impost blocks and a keystone, framed by stone Doric pilasters and an entablature on both the west and east faces. The cornice and blocking course appear to have been renewed. Low brick walls on either side end in brick piers topped with stone cornices, and there are cast-iron gates.
