Description
The monument to Anna Maria Crouch is located in the churchyard of the Church of St Nicholas of Myra in Brighton. It commemorates Anna Maria Crouch, an actress and singer, and is signed and dated "COADE AND SEALY LONDON 1806." The monument is made of stone and is situated approximately 15 meters northeast of the east end of the church. The base consists of two steps, and the Coade stone table tomb is now partly repaired with composition stone. The tomb features a moulded plinth, with the center brought forward to include an inscribed tablet and a bay-leaf frieze. Atop the tomb is a Classical vase adorned with gadrooning, a Vitruvian frieze, putti, and a large finial that is now partly destroyed. The railings that once surrounded the monument are missing.
