Description
This is a row of four terraced houses, numbers 20 to 23, located on Terminus Road, Brighton, constructed around 1845. They were originally built as two pairs of houses. The exterior is red brick, with parts now painted, and stucco detailing. The roofs are hidden behind a parapet.
The houses are three storeys high and form a single-window range. The central section features round-arched entrances with fanlights. A shallow segmental bay extends from the ground and first floors. The ground-floor windows have flat arches, and the sash windows are of an original design, although they have been renewed in number 21 on the first floor. The first-floor windows are French windows, leading out onto a bracketed balcony with cast-iron railings. The second-floor windows have flat arches constructed with gauged brick. A stucco cornice runs along the top of the building, above which is a parapet. Chimney stacks are located within the party walls between the houses. The interior has not been inspected.
