Description
This is a terrace of houses built around 1830-1840, designed by C.A. Busby. The buildings are stucco-faced over a rubble and brick core, with slate roofs and deep, overhanging eaves. They form part of a larger terrace, adjoining number 33 to the north. The terrace consists of three storeys above a basement level, with each property having a 1:2 bay configuration. Each property features a full-height bowed front with a two-window frontage, containing sash windows without glazing bars. A moulded string course runs along the front, while the ground floor is rusticated. A continuous single-storey Ionic colonnade with a balustrade parapet runs along the front of the terrace, supported by a segmental-headed arcade set into the basement level, with flights of steps leading to the entrances. Fanlights and a variety of doors are present above the entrances. Cast-iron railings extend from the entrances along the street frontage.
