Description
These are terraced houses located at 43-49 High Street in Rottingdean, dating from the early 19th century. The buildings feature cobbles with red brick dressings and render, topped with a slate roof. They are two storeys high, with one window each. All openings have brick quoins and dressings. Nos. 43 and 45 have 20th-century shop fronts, while Nos. 47 and 49 have segmental-arched entrances and segmental-arched windows on the ground floor. The first-floor windows are all flat-arched. Nos. 43-47 share a single hipped roof at the northern end, with a stack at the southern end and another stack between Nos. 45 and 47. No. 49 has its own hipped roof and a rebuilt stack on the party wall with No. 47. The left-hand and right-hand returns are rendered. The interior has not been inspected.
