Description

Numbers 1 to 5 and their attached railings are a group of early 19th-century terraced houses in stucco. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. Number 1 is four storeys over a basement, while numbers 2 to 5 are two storeys and an attic over a basement. Number 1 has a single-window front, numbers 2 to 4 each have two windows, and number 5 has three. A flat-arched doorway with an overlight is framed by Tuscan pilasters and an entablature; the doorway to number 1 is round-arched with a fanlight and retains its original door. A full-height segmental bay with tripartite windows is located next to the entry, and extends almost to the parapet on number 1. All windows are flat-arched, and the first-floor windows to the sides of the bays on numbers 2 and 5 are blocked. Balconies with cast-iron railings are present on numbers 2 to 4, the latter supported by cast-iron brackets. Number 1 features a storey band between the first and second floors. Numbers 2 to 5 have an entablature to the second floor and attic. Parapets are present on all properties. Chimney stacks are located on alternating party walls. The interiors have not been inspected. Cast-iron railings are found to the stairs and area, and a cast-iron window box is present on number 3.
