Description

This is a cottage, now divided into two dwellings, likely originating in the 16th century, although it was later refronted and extended, with the windows replaced in the late 20th century. The construction is of random rubble flint with some brick, and the returns are roughcast. It has a steeply pitched clay tile roof with a hipped section to the left, featuring a brick stack rising directly from the eaves, and a half-hipped section to the right, with an original stack positioned between the first and second bays on the left-hand side. The layout may have originally been two rooms, later extended by one bay beyond the stack. The cottage is two storeys high, with a 1:2 bay arrangement. All windows are late 20th-century 2-light casements. A ground floor stairlight window, also from the late 20th century, sits beside the stack, flanked by 20th-century doors giving access to numbers 65 and 67. The interior has not been inspected.
