Description

Number 58 is a house, dating from the early 19th century, now used as offices. The ground floor is stuccoed, while the upper floors are of brick in a Flemish bond, with lintels of gauged brick. The roof is hipped and covered in slate.

The exterior has three storeys over a basement, with a three-window range and a narrower, single-window range set back on the left. A round-arched entrance in the centre is approached by double doors in a plain panelled design. This entrance is set within a small, decorative structure (aedicule) featuring pilasters with block capitals and a keyed round arch with an architrave and cornice. To the left of the main entrance, there's a second round-arched entrance within a stuccoed section that mimics the appearance of ashlar. Windows are set in deep reveals with projecting sills, and all except those in the basement have flat arches. The first and second-floor windows have gauged brick lintels. The first and third windows on the second floor have 8/8 sash windows from the early 19th century. The first-floor window of the set-back range features 6/6 sash windows, again from the early 19th century. The basement window on the left is segmental arched with 8/8 sash windows from the early 19th century. Cast-iron railings are present to the area and on the left side of the entrance. Chimney stacks are visible on the end wall.

The interior visible from the entrance shows an original staircase and round-arched doorcases connecting the stair hall to the rear rooms. These features appear to be original to the 19th century.
