Description
This is a thatched cottage dating to the late 16th century. It has been altered and extended in the mid-20th century. The cottage is timber-framed with painted brick infill, and has a hipped and gabled thatched roof. The layout is an L-shape consisting of two rows of two framed bays. The exterior is two storeys high. There is a single gable chimney and a taller chimney at the rear, featuring a clay pot and a bread oven in its base. Windows are 20th-century leaded casements. The east-facing front has two bays, with windows set within the timber frame. A plank entrance door is located to the left of centre, sheltered by a lean-to hood made of interlocking clay tiles, supported on plain brackets. A projecting gable is located on the right, featuring large arch braces between posts and a tie of the roof truss. The interior was not inspected.
