Description

This is an early 19th-century buff terracotta urn located in a flowerbed to the northeast of the Palm House in the Royal Botanical Gardens. The large urn features scenes depicting Greek mythological figures and has mask handles. It stands on a plain pedestal, with the base inscribed "O(?) ROGGON LAMBETH 1825(?)". This urn is a copy of the Medici vase, with another variation found to the southeast of the Orangery.
