Description
Grove Cottage is a cottage, likely from the 19th century, built on an earlier site, with an upper floor that dates back to the 18th century. It is structurally part of Devoncroft. The ground floor is probably brick and rendered with stucco, while the upper floor is rendered with pebble dash, featuring a plain storey band. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. There is a multiple stack at the junction with Devoncroft. The cottage has two storeys and features a panelled door set in a plain recessed opening. On the ground floor, there is a single flush framed sash window with glazing bars. The first floor has two similar windows facing Amyand Park Road and one facing Oak Lane. The upper floor includes a left front room and a passage from the 18th century. Inside, there is a timber eared fire surround with a small basket grate, and a cupboard with a plain panelled door from the 19th century. There is also an 18th-century plain panelled wall and door with L hinges leading to a closet against the chimney stack. The rest of the interior carpentry is mainly from the late 19th to early 20th century. One window features hand-painted small leaded panes with coloured glass margins, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
