Description
Thrae is a cottage, likely built in the early 18th century. It features squared dressed stone with brick dressings and tile roofs. Originally, the cottage had two rooms on each floor, but these have now been combined into one on the ground floor. The small windows have cambered brick heads below and wooden lintels above, with all diamond-paned casements recently replaced. The door, dating from the 20th century, is set in a cambered-headed surround and is sheltered by a tile hood supported by two squat brick buttresses that rise nearly to the eaves and end in small moulded gables. There is one gable stack. At the rear, there is a continuous outshut that appears to be original. To the left and right, there are single-storey additions from the 20th century. Inside, there is a large fireplace with an oven, crude joists (with one trimmed where access to the first floor was), and very rough tie beams and rafters.
