Description

This is a large, detached house dating from the mid-19th century, situated on Copse Hill in Merton. Constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings, the house has a slate roof with low eaves. It is an example of Italianate style architecture, arranged over three storeys with four projecting bays to the front. Flanking these are two-bay wings, one to the right and one to the left. A projecting, solid-sided porch provides the entrance on the right side, while a projecting square bay window with round-headed windows is positioned to the left. Square-headed windows are located above the porch. The windows are sash windows with plate glass, set within stone architraves, and are separated by stone bands between the storeys. The eaves are corbelled.
