Description

The chest tomb to John Evans, located in St Dunstan's Churchyard, is a Grade II listed structure dating from the late 18th century. It is made of Portland stone and features a Pennant stone ledger. The tomb has a fluted frieze along the angle balusters and a projecting center on the sides, which includes an inscription panel supported by guttae. This tomb is of naval historical significance and is also a striking example of Neoclassical design. John Evans was an Admiral of the Blue and passed away in 1794.
