Description
The entrance gateway of Chiswick Park, located immediately west of the Obelisk, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a cement-rendered east elevation. The gateway features a central round-headed arch that includes a plinth, moulded imposts, an archivolt, and a capping adorned with ball terminals. The side walls curve to the east and are topped with capping and quoins. Wrought iron gates complete the structure. This gateway is part of a group that includes Chiswick House, along with its garden buildings and ornaments.
