Description
Nos 1 to 11 on The Green in West Drayton are early to mid-19th century buildings, with some possibly hiding earlier timber-framed construction. They are two storeys tall and feature a total of ten windows. The facades are a mix of brick, which has a dentil cornice, and rendered surfaces, all currently painted white. The roofs are old and tiled, hipped on the left side over No 1. No 11 is located on the right return of No 9. The windows vary, with a few being sash windows that have glazing bars, while several are modern casements. No 1 includes a 19th-century shop on the ground floor, and Nos 5 and 7 have modern carriageways and prominent modern shop fronts. These buildings are included for their contribution to the townscape, as they help to close off the northern end of The Green, despite having undergone many alterations.
