Description
Nos. 29-30 on The Green is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is 1½ storeys high with attics and features three windows arranged in a three-cell, lobby-entrance plan. The building has a timber-framed structure rendered with an asbestos roof that was formerly thatched. It includes gabled casement dormers and an axial chimney. The early 19th-century windows have small panes, with No. 29 featuring casements and No. 30 having sash windows. The entrance doors were added in the 20th century. Additionally, No. 29 has a two-storey early 19th-century extension towards Barrow Street, constructed of flint with red brick quoins and sash windows. This extension also includes a shop window with a segmental brick arch spanning two casements, complete with sliding shutters.
