Description

16 The Green is a house dating from the late 17th century or 18th century. It has two storeys and attics, featuring three windows. The structure is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a glazed pantiled roof, and has red brick chimneys at the rear. The sash windows have four large panes with flush frames and architraves. The entrance door, likely from the late 18th century, has six fielded panels and an oblong fanlight with radial bars, flanked by flat pilasters with sunken panels and an open pediment, which has probably been restored in the 20th century. At the back, there is an early 19th-century wing that forms a two-roof plan, constructed of flint with red brick quoins and a pantiled roof. The property is also marked by two pairs of wrought iron entrance gates from the 19th century, set on brick piers with flanking railings between, featuring tulip-head standards that are not of special interest.
