Description
The Chestnuts is an early 18th century house located in the grounds of Honeycroft Hill, Uxbridge. It is constructed of brick with a cement finish and has two storeys. The façade features five double-hung sash windows set within surrounds with sills. A Roman Doric porch with half columns, an astragal frieze, a modillion cornice, and a pediment frames the entrance, which has an architrave. The roof is covered with old tiles and includes three dormers that have moulded cornices and segmental pediments. There are brown brick additions to the south of the building. The house was once the home of William Wilberforce. At the time of listing, the house was roofless and only one room deep, awaiting restoration.
