Description

Uxbridge Lido is a swimming pool built in 1935 by G Percy Trentham in the Moderne style. It is constructed of concrete with a tiled lining and features a unique 12-sided "star" formation. The pool has a broad deep section with angled sides that provide diving space in the middle, along with twin shallow ends. Although the diving boards have been removed, the two platforms and stairs still remain. This lido is the only remaining example of a 12-sided "star" swimming pool in the country and is the second longest open-air swimming pool still in existence in London, with Tooting Bec Lido being the longest.
