Description

Hillingdon House has origins dating back to the 18th century but has been stuccoed and significantly altered, particularly after a fire in 1844 when architect George Mair was involved in the renovations. The building has an 'H' shaped general form with a single storey infill at the recessed fronts. The main sections are two storeys high, with a three-storey spire. The mansard roofs have been altered and include dormers. The entrance front features a bowed Doric portico, with Venetian windows on either side and lunettes above. The rear has quoins but is otherwise plain. The interior is simple and dates from the mid-19th century.
