Description
Nos 18 and 19 on High Street in Uxbridge are historically significant buildings. No 18 is an early 19th-century house with three storeys and three windows. It is constructed from yellow stock brick and features a stone-coped parapet. The recessed sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with gauged flat brick arches, and the first-floor windows are set in stucco-lined reveals. The ground floor has been altered with modern shops.
No 19 is a 2-storey, 18th-century cottage located behind No 18. It is made of pinkish brick and has a dentil cornice. The roof has been replaced with modern pantiles. The first floor has replaced sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor features small paned fixed lights under segmental brick arches. To the left, there is a 19th-century four-panel door with a radial fanlight and flat hood, and to the right, there are boarded double doors.
Together, Nos 10 to 20 form a cohesive group.
