Description
The Midland Bank is a mid-19th century building located at 28 High Street in Uxbridge. It stands three storeys tall and features two windows on its façade. The front is now roughcast and includes alternating block rusticated quoins and a banded rusticated stucco ground floor. The centre of the building is set back and divided by attached, paired Doric columns that support a fascia with an ornamental cornice. Above this, there is an entablature and a balustraded parapet that conceals the roof. The sash windows have moulded architraves with margin lights, and the first-floor windows are adorned with console bracketed cornices. The ornamental surround of the door on the left appears to be from a later period. The building is noted for its group value with the adjacent properties numbered 24 to 28.
