Description
Nos 134 and 135 on High Street in Uxbridge are an impressive early to mid-18th century house featuring two storeys and five windows. The building has a double span high-pitched tiled roof with end chimneys. It is constructed of light brown brick with red brick dressings, which include flat gauged window arches and a moulded cornice with modillions below the parapet, topped with stone coping. In the center, there is an early 19th century canted bay that spans two floors, adorned with a wooden cornice that matches the brick cornice exactly, and it features three sash windows with glazing bars on each floor. The windows of No 134 have been replaced with modern sashes, while No 135 retains early 19th century sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor has been altered to accommodate modern shops. Nos 126 to 136, along with No 126A, form a group with these buildings.
