Description
Drayton Hall, located on Church Road in West Drayton, is a council office building primarily from the early 19th century, with an east wing dating to around 1840 that has a carefully matched facade. It is believed to have a 17th-century core, although no remnants of this core are visible. The building stands two storeys high with an attic and features a symmetrical arrangement of windows, consisting of one set of three-light double hung sashes and five other windows. The roof is a slated mansard style with three dormers. The walls are stuccoed and include a cornice and blocking course. The first floor has round window arches, and there are sunk panels between the ground and first floor windows. A modern door is set within a Roman Doric porch. The east elevation showcases two rounded bows on the ground floor, each with balconies above that have wrought iron railings. These bows are framed by Doric pilasters and entablatures. Inside, there is a hall screen made up of two fluted Doric columns, along with some early 19th-century enriched doorcases and cornices featuring acanthus scroll or anthemion patterns. Additionally, there is a modern two-storey extension made of stock brick on the right side of the building.
