Description
The Cutty Sark is a Grade I listed tea clipper, weighing 963 gross tons, launched in 1869 for the China tea trade. After 1877, she was used for the Australian wool run and was the fastest ship of her time. The vessel is now preserved in a special dry dock and serves as a museum and a permanent memorial to the era of sailing ships, maintained by the Cutty Sark Society.
