Description
The Garden House, located to the north-west of Charlton House and now functioning as a public lavatory, is a small building dating from the mid to late 17th century, sometimes attributed to Inigo Jones. It has one storey and a basement on the north side, constructed of red brick. The front and sides are flanked and divided into three bays by brick Doric pilasters, topped with an entablature. The building features a very high, near-pyramidal swept roof that is slated and adorned with wood cresting. The door and windows have moulded brick architraves, and there are modern flush mullioned and transomed windows along with a modern central door that are in keeping with the building's style.
