Description
38 Royal Hill is a late 18th century house with two storeys and an attic. It features two windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor. The mansard roof is covered with large slates and has three square dormers with early 19th century casements. The house is constructed of multicoloured stock brick and has a parapet. The recessed sash windows, which have glazing bars, are topped with gauged flat brick arches, although the first-floor windows have been replaced. A cast iron guard is present at the right first-floor window, while the ground floor right window is a late 19th century three-light sash. There is one step leading up to a four-panel door set in a panelled reveal, topped with a cornice head and a patterned rectangular fanlight. The quasi-Doric porch is prostyle and features a frieze with guttae and a central rosette, along with a cornice and blocking course. Numbers 30 to 38 Royal Hill form a group.
