Description

Nos. 16-26 on King George Street is a terrace of houses built between 1829 and 1830. The buildings are made of stock brick and feature slate roofs with stock brick chimney-stacks. They are predominantly two storeys high with a basement, and most have one window, except for no. 26, which has three storeys and a basement. The windows are mainly 12-pane sashes, although no. 22 has lost its glazing bars. The houses have round-headed doorcases, with nos. 16-20 having blocked fanlights, while the others have open fanlights. No. 26 is noted for having a chimney piece with corner roundels and sunk pulvinated surrounds.
