Description

This is a clubroom, constructed in 1934 as part of the Ealing Village development by R Toms and Partners for the Bell Property Company. The building is of painted brick with a hipped roof covered in green pantiles. It is one storey and consists of seven bays by six. It has metal Crittal windows with glazing bars. The front elevation is arranged with two, three, and two bays. A square-columned, hipped-roofed portico protects the central entrance, which features a vertically-panelled door with sidelights and flanking windows. The eaves are deep and stepped. Two metal flues with conical cowls are visible. At the rear, a three-section brick-on-edge staircase leads up to a square-columned verandah. The central section of the rear is recessed and provides a wide entrance with a six-leaf glass door, flanking windows, and doors. Inside, the clubroom has a narrow boarded floor. A folding glazed screen separates a hall to the right, originally used as a common room and ladies' room, while a billiard hall is located on the left. It serves as a central feature within the Ealing Village development.
