Description
42 and 43 The Mall are an early 19th-century pair of stuccoed houses, each with two storeys and a basement. They feature six double-hung sash windows and seven granite Doric pilasters. The ground floor windows are adorned with architraves and entablatures, and there are cast iron balcony railings. The doors, which have fanlights, are set in plain recessed porches. A stringcourse runs along the first floor, and the eaves cornice is supported by paired reeded brackets. The houses have a hipped roof covered with Welsh slate.
