Description
The Parish Church of Christ the Saviour, located on New Broadway, was constructed in 1852. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, with later additions by G.F. Bodley, it is a building of group value. Constructed from Kentish ragstone and Bath stone, the church is in the Early English style, notable for its geometric tracery and includes a west tower with a spire. The church comprises a nave, chancel, and aisles, with a five-bay nave featuring a hammerbeam roof. It has quite rich interior detailing. The building was restored following bomb damage.
