Description

No. 86 Mattock Lane is an early 19th-century house. It comprises a main three-bay block and a three-bay brick wing to the left, with a more modern two-bay wing on the right. The main block is constructed of yellow stock brick, with a slate roof. A stucco Doric porch is recessed into the left bay, featuring columns and a plain entablature. A narrow stucco band runs along the first-floor sill level, and the roofline is finished with a coped parapet. The left wing is also of yellow stock brick with a parapet. The left flank of the wing has been rendered and features simple Gothic-style windows, including quatrefoil windows on the first floor, and two small attic windows with pointed arches set within the gable.
