Description
The Grange is a house built in the early 19th century, with a mid-20th century wing added to the rear. It features yellow-white brick with lighter brick used for the arches and has a slated roof. The building has a fine symmetrical facade, consisting of a two-storey main block flanked by single-storey side wings. The facade has a three-window range with inset sashes that include glazing bars. The windows have flat brick arches, except for the center window, which has a segmental arch. The central bay is slightly set forward and contains a doorway and window within a semi-circular headed recess. The doorway is further set within another semi-circular headed recess and features twin three-panel raised and fielded doors, along with a semi-circular fanlight that has decorative glazing bars arranged in a loop pattern. The doorway is framed by a reeded architrave with corner roundels. There is a stucco band at the first-floor level, which continues onto the side wings at the parapet level. The building has a wooden cornice and a hipped roof with wide overhanging eaves. The side wings are set back slightly and each has a semi-circular headed blank recess with a brick band at the springing level and a rectangular blank panel above. A stone urn is positioned above the parapet.
