Description
Moor House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, possibly with an earlier core. It has an L-shaped plan, with the main wing facing north. The building features a timber-framed core, which is covered in colourwashed brick, and has a plaintiled roof. It is a single storey with an attic and has a four-window range with three-light casements that have square leaded panes. The doorway has a four-panel door, and both the doorway and the two right-hand windows are framed with raised brick surrounds, topped with a continuous brick band. There are four flat-roofed dormers, most of which also contain square leaded panes. The right-hand side has a Dutch gable end, adorned with brick bands at the eaves level and the upper part of the gable. To the left, there is a 19th-century single-storey brick dairy wing featuring a large three-light window. The house has one internal stack and a gable end stack on the left side. The rear wing also has a Dutch gable end facing south, with a brick band at the eaves level and pairs of blocked windows at the first floor and attic levels, along with a gable end stack.
