Description
A pair of lodges, built in 1934 by R Toms and Partners for the Bell Property Company, forming two flats. The lodges are constructed of painted brick with a green tile roof to a mansard form. They are arranged in an L-shape and comprise one storey with an attic. The windows are metal Crittal windows with glazing bars, sloping tile sills, and drip courses. The building has a hipped mansard roof. The east elevation has two bays, with the left bay projecting as a gabled wing featuring a four-light window to each floor. The gable has a curvilinear form with concave tile kneelers and a concrete coping. The right bay has two-light windows to the ground floor and an attic dormer. The left return has five bays, with a centrally recessed entrance, narrow one-light windows, a central two-light dormer, and a stack on the right with terracotta pots (one replaced). The interior was not inspected. These lodges originally served Ealing Village and were occupied by the head caretaker and gardener.
