Description
The Ship Public House, located at 47 High Street, is a building that is said to have been rebuilt in 1835, although it shows signs of an earlier structure. It stands two and a half storeys tall and is constructed of stock brick with a slated mansard roof. The roof features two dormers and is adorned with a moulded stuccoed cornice and a blocking-course. The first floor is made of painted brick and has two 3-light sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor showcases a public house front that includes pilasters, a fascia, and a cornice. Notably, there is a ship's figurehead positioned between the first-floor windows.
