Description
Heathfield is a late 18th century or early 19th century building that was altered and partly rebuilt by Henry Goschen after 1866. The south, or garden, front has two storeys and three bays, featuring two French windows on the ground floor and two sashes with a central blocked opening above. There is a verandah with a curved zinc canopy and iron openwork standards. The west, or entrance, front also has two storeys and nine bays, with a three-bay centre flanked by taller single bay projections that have bowed fronts, followed by two additional bays on each side. A mid-19th century two-storey porch with a bay window is located in the centre of the front, and the remaining windows are all sashes. The east front is similar to the west front. The building has hipped slate roofs and rendered stacks. There are modern additions to the north and north-east, and the interiors have been considerably altered.
