Description
The Church of St John, built in 1836 by Sir Gilbert Scott, is located on Shirley Church Road. The church is constructed of flint with stone dressings and features a four-bay nave, aisles, a chancel, and a modern south chapel. Inside, there is a bell turret supported by two large circular piers with crocket capitals. The church also boasts a marble altar piece adorned with a painting in the pre-Raphaelite style.
