Description

This coal taxpost, located approximately five yards to the west side of Milking Lane on Downe Golf Course, dates from 1861. It is made of cast iron and has a square shape with chamfered sides and moulded caps. The post features a shield from the City's Arms and is classified as No 187 type 2d in "The Coal Duties of the City of London and their Boundary Marks" published in 1972.
