Description

The farmhouse at Tripe's Farm is a Grade II listed building with its core dating back to the 16th century, although it has seen additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. The original structure forms an H shape, consisting of a hall with two bays, a cross-wing with two bays, and a four-bay granary positioned at right angles to the house. It features a queen post roof and has blocked original mullioned windows on the first floor bedroom. The exterior of the older part of the farmhouse is two storeys high and is now covered in stucco, topped with a steeply pitched tiled roof. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century casements and a triple casement. A modern brick porch has been added to the entrance.

To the east, a 20th-century extension has been constructed, also two storeys and stuccoed, with a hipped tiled roof. This extension includes four metal casements on the first floor and a later casement on the ground floor. On the west side, there is a single-storey extension from the late 19th century and a greenhouse. The granary, which is also two storeys and stuccoed, has one side partly weatherboarded and features a steeply pitched hipped tiled roof with two to three 19th-century casements. The granary likely had its first floor used for storage and the ground floor for stabling.
